Welcome to The Butterfly Bros YouTube channel! Our names are Jim and Joel Ashton and we love butterflies!
Okay, it's not just butterflies, we're passionate about all forms of wildlife! But we spend a lot of time every spring and summer chasing butterflies up and down the country and decided it's about time we share our great experiences with anyone interested in these wonderful insects.
We are lucky to be in the position to also help butterflies and wildlife with our work too. Since 2006 we have run our own company Hazelwood Landscapes Ltd, and a large part of what we do is wildlife habitat creation. You can find out more about our projects by clicking the link at the bottom of this description.

Exbury Gardens ~ Creating a home for dragonflies |
(Y) | Lionel de Rothschild |
A video about an exciting project we have been involved in at Exbury Gardens in Hampshire, where an existing established pond is being turned into a home for dragonflies.
We were contacted by Ruary Mackenzie Dodds, a leading expert on dragonflies, who planned to plant the pond up with native water plants, with a view to attracting as many species of dragonfly and damselfly as possible!
We have been very happy to supply all the plants for this project, and also help advise on the planting positions.
A big thank you goes to Ruary Mackenzie Dodds, Kari de Koenigswarter and Lionel de Rothschild for their help and involvement with the project throughout.
Also thank you to Steve and Jane Page for their aerial photography skills and all the team who carried out the planting and made the project happen!
We will be monitoring the progress as the site develops in the future and look forward to making further videos showing the successes of the project.
